Historical version of cheesecake

Apparently, this (slightly modernised) cheesecake recipe is a cheesecake version which the Romans prepared (‘savillum’).

  1. In a bowl mix well flour, ground nuts or almonds, mascarpone (and quark, if used), honey, egg and soaked raisins (if used). Set aside, covered, for several hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 160 °C. Grease flat ovenproof dish, add cheesecake mixture and bake for 50-60 minutes. If liked, drizzle with warm honey to serve (will be very sweet).
