  1. Mix sugar and ground cinnamon. Preheat oven to 190 °C. Grease a shallow baking dish with soft butter, sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar, turn dish to cover. Peel apples, half horizontally and remove core. Put apple halves in baking dish, cut side up. Brush with lemon juice and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar. If used, divide sultanas in apple halves. Cover everything with double cream and bake for about 30 minutes until apples are soft.
