Protein chocolate drink
Neither sweet nor savoury, but a tasty way to add protein and fibre to a liquid diet.
Ingredients
- 50 dark chocolate, grated or very finely chopped
- 200 ml almond milk (unsweetened)
- 100 g kidney beans (tinned), rinsed and drained
- 200 g Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp ground almonds
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- pinch of ground cinnamon
Method
- In a saucepan gently heat (but do not boil) the almond milk, add chocolate and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat. Combine with beans, yogurt, ground almonds, cocoa powder and cinnamon. Blend to a smooth and creamy consistency, pass through a fine-meshed sieve. Adjust thickness as preferred by adding water as required, serve chilled (or add a few ice cubes and serve immediately).
