Watermelon jelly
Ingredients
- 500 g watermelon pieces
- pinch of ground cinnamon
- 50 g caster sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 sachet powdered gelatin
Method
- Soak gelatin in a little water. Puree water melon with sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Gently warm puree, add dissolved gelatin while stirring. Set aside to cool, refrigerate for several hours.
Variations
This refreshing jelly goes well with (sweetened) milk, (whipped) cream, yogurt or custard. It is equally good with (cold) blue cheese sauce. A softly set, wobbly watermelon jelly is a useful lubricant for other foods, similar to wobbly cucumber jelly.
