White bean flan
Delicious served with any kind of good quality gravy or vegetable sauce/puree.
Ingredients
- 240 g white beans (tinned), rinsed and drained
- generous knob of butter (soft)
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 30 g tahini paste
- 1 egg
- 100 ml milk
- 50 ml double cream
- salt
Method
- Grease 4 ramekins with soft butter, set aside. Preheat oven to 150 °C.
- Combine beans, garlic, tahini, egg, milk and cream. Blend to a smooth puree, pass through a fine-meshed sieve, season to taste. Transfer to prepared ramekins. Set ramekins in a roasting dish, add hot water to roasting dish to about half height of ramekins. Bake at 150 °C for about 40 minutes. Remove ramekins from waterbath and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
